Stepping up on the defence and rebounding was Jennifer Joseph Hackett and Shakira Shorey. The Barbados’ men and women’s teams left the island last Wednesday to travel to Cuba. The teams arrived in Santiago well in advance of their games, and had sufficient time to rest and prepare for competition. In past tournaments the teams arrived 24 hours in advance of the competition but this time the men’s team arrived 46 hours before their first game and the women arrived 67 hours ahead of their first game. This proved successfully as in the men’s first game they defeated

Dean Browne had 14, Michael Nurse, 13 and David Gill, 10. Compliments of the Barbados Advocate |
