Web Posted - Fri May 21 2004 The performers were all multi-talented. Troy MacGillivray excelled on fiddle and then moved to the keyboards to accompany Barbados-based bagpiper Mike Chisholm. Both McCarrel sisters, Meagan and Michelle, were accomplished performers on the fiddle but Meagan also performed a rhythmic, foot-tapping Irish dance while Michelle excelled on the keyboards. Clearly enjoying the evening was the multi- talented Tara McKenzie whose infectious smile lit up her performances whether playing the harp, bodhron (Irish drum) or guitar or singing traditional Irish airs. They also performed at a special lunch at Sunbury House on Wednesday and at Macbrides on Thursday. They were due to have sessions with the Barbados Youth Orchestra at the Prince Cave Hall yesterday and the music students of the Barbados Community College today. Tonight they will be in concert with the Royal Barbados Police Band at
the Prince Cave Hall in Station Hill. Tomorrow will see the Halbro Cup
Rugby Tournament at the Garrison and the Festival will end on Sunday with
the Celtic cruise from midday.· Compliments of the Barbados Advocate |
