Permission being sought from the Manchester Jazz Festival

The 2004 festival is currently being planned for July 24th – August 1st, and we expect to have full programme details on this site for you by about May.

We hope to bring you our usual mix of the exciting, the and the extraordinary as part of this year’s programme…the semi-permanent stage in St Ann’s Square will be back, as will the final day celebrations in Albert Square, which last year drew a record-breaking 3,000 people! In between, our ever-popular informal lunchtime gigs in the Bridgwater Hall foyer will break up your long summer days, and intimate evening concerts at the Green Room will bring you a bustling selection of and infrequently-heard visiting players to Manchester.

The mjf Education Programme was launched in 2000 with the ambitious JazzY2k project, which involved five schools, ten musicians, twenty workshops, and a four-hour finale concert!
