The National Conservation Commission (NCC) presented
Another Side of Farley Hill to show corporate executives, event
and wedding planners the suitability of this wonderful location for a
variety of occasions. The unique invitations and programmes designed by
Graffix 2, featured an arch of the Great House ruins that seemed to invite
guests to step into another side of Farley Hill. .
The event was conceptualised and co-ordinated by PR firm, Saunders-Franklyn
Associates, who assembled a group of partners on behalf of the NCC that
together can offer professional packages for weddings, corporate events,
business meetings and reunions in a unique environment. The event showcased
the high quality venue, products and services the NCC and its team of
partners can provide. It demonstrated that this is the ultimate “one-stop
shop” for anyone wishing to hold an event in the scenic, cool and
historic surroundings of “the hill”
Bobbi McKay and Associates was responsible for the skilful site management
and A & B Music looked after all the sound and electricity generation.
Seating and tents were provided by Ellco Rentals Limited, stage lighting
by IGM while Field Tech constructed the staging and decking.
On arrival the guests were greeted
by valet parking compliments DJ’s Essential Services. Valet
parking offers convenience for guests and ensures maximum use of
available space and the security of the vehicle whilst it is parked.
Ushers from the NCC, trained by the Barbados Association of Office
Professionals (BAOP), guided guests to their seats.
The presentation opened with a staged wedding, the
bridal party arriving in an immaculate limousine from the Tanzanite
Limousine Company. Make-up by Beautiful One saw the bridal party
looking their best, not to mention the gowns provided by designer
Pat Brathwaite and suits from Abeds.

The beautiful setting of Farley Hill was augmented
by the excellent classical performances of The Barbados String Quartet,
that plays for weddings and corporate events.
Guests enjoying the fantasy wedding included the
Hon. Elizabeth Thompson-McDowald Minister of Housing, Lands and
the Environment and Jennifer Applewaite, Chairperson of the NCC
Antoine Williams, “marriage officer “
appointed by the NCC “for that day only” officiated
at the ceremony of Mr. and Mrs. Farley-Hill, played by models Ghislaine
Mc Kenzie of Godal Management and Ralph Hercules, who along with
the rest of the bridal party demonstrated the suitability of the
restaurant courtyard for a small to medium-sized wedding.
