ANTIGUA - sailing

Photo taken from Villa Sariel click to viewOne of Antigua's most famous sailors, Lord Horatio Nelson, left Antigua a treasure that has recently been renovated and revitalised, Nelson's Dockyard at English Harbour. Now a vibrant area with shopping and restaurants as well as docking facilities, this is only one of Antigua's welcoming harbours.

Antigua sailing The Jolly Harbour Yacht Club, on the sheltered west coast, is an extremely active club, with members meeting every Saturday at 1.00pm for an afternoon of racing. They also have an annual regatta every October and there is a weekend Antigua to Barbuda cruising race in July that promises to be lots of fun!

In December Antigua hosts the Annual Nicholson's Boat Show & Marine Fair. This is probably the world's oldest charter yacht show when boats from all over the world converge on English Harbour, Falmouth and the St. James' Club. The amazing variety of sailing vessels includes cutters, sloops, schooners and cats as well as big power craft.

Leeward Islands Charter

Leeward Island map compliments of Villa SarielThe Itinerary will be the guest's choice from the several alternatives available. Explore the beautiful islands of Antigua & Barbuda with their many deserted beaches - some of which are only accessible by yacht.

Alternatively, the harbours are full of bars, restaurants and lively nightlife during the season.

For the more adventurous, other destinations such as the French islands of Guadeloupe and the Saintes to the south, or St.Kitts/Nevis & St.Martin to the north offer blue water sailing experiences
