Backstage the excitement was palpable as models, hairdressers, make-up artists and stylists all added to the creative mix.
The show commenced with the Lena Nicholson collection, titled ‘Barefoot Diva’, wonderfully feminine designs complimented by eye-catching makeup.
Mark Daniel followed with his ‘Avark’ collection for men, hand-painted linens and cottons that embody the phrase ‘elegantly casual’. Presenter Oneta, seen here with Mark, was glamorous in her Avark design

Pat Blackman was next on the runway with a collection titled Perlixin’, an old Barbadian word meaning to “dress up in style” which she defined beautifully
Adrii Holder presented Celsius Sportwear a great collection of men’s linen trousers and suits, combined with hand-painted and tie-dyed shirts
Roger Gary brought the opening night’s show to an end with a rapturously received collection titled ‘Aqua Culture’
