Rihanna at the Barbados Music Awards 2006

The inaugural Barbados Music Awards was a resounding success and those in the music industry, the public and, importantly, the media have all been showering praise on Ronnie Morris and his team at Timeless Barbados Entertainment Agency.

It was a night of starts past and present. 1985 Grammy Award winner (Producer of Steel Pulse’s Babylon the Bandit) and BMA Cornerstone Award recipient Jimmy ‘Senya’ Haynes (rt) arrived with artists’ manager Andy Bowen. Jimmy is the only Barbadian to date to have won a prestigious Grammy Award
	Rihanna, nominated in ten categories, received the attention due a fast-rising international star who also happens to be a Barbadian! Her manager Marc Jordan (partly hidden) is seen in the background
Rupee, another Barbados artist doing well on the International music scene, was a popular arrival

Other red-carpet arrivals included Cornerstone Award recipient Alan Sheppard and Cornerstone Award recipient Phillip Forrester
