sports>> BARBADOS - Amateur Athletic Association (AAA) 2005 season Open League Web Posted - Wed Jan 19 2005 Jerrad Mason won the Primary School boys' 150m in 19.9 seconds. Zoe Bradshaw won the Primary School girls' 60m in 9.6 seconds, while Joshua Gay won the boys' 60m in 9.1 seconds. The women's Open Long Jump was won by Kamilah Burke (Alleyne) with a leap of 4.60m, while Orlando Richards (Alleyne) won the men's Open Long Jump in 6.16m. Kofi Worrell (Lester Vaughn) won the Under-17 boys' Shot Putt with a distance of 13.43m. During the meet, several elections were held by the AAA for the posts of coaches, rep (Alwyn Babb), male athletes' rep (Reynald Walters), female athletes' rep (Angela Jackson), officials' rep (Jasmine Forde) and clubs' rep (Tony Williams). Immediately following the elections Obadele Thompson, who also volunteered his services as an official, took the opportunity to give an inspirational talk to the athletes. The Open League Series continues at 10 a.m. on Saturday with an even larger turnout expected.
