Barbados’ Under-19 cricketers had their final chance to impress local selectors at Kensington Oval.

None of the batsmen managed a half century in a relatively low scoring drawn match, as bowlers had the better of the exchanges.

Nicholas Squires did make an attractive 45, Nokolai Stanford, 42, and Nikolai Parris also 42 for the Parris XI, but leg-spinner Tariq Hoyte staked a claim by taking four wickets. Medium pacer Jevon Searles, 3/27, and left-arm spinner Steve Pinder, 2/36, were equally impressive with the ball.

The selectors were to meet last night to chose the team which will compete at the West Indies Under-19 regional tournament to be held in Jamaica later this month.
