The BICO Primary Schools'
Football Competition got underway and defending champions
Westbury picked up right where they left off last year Ð on a winning
note. After being awarded the prize for the Best Team On Parade
at the Netball Stadium, the lads made the short journey over to
the National Stadium to play the Reginald Haynes Memorial Football
Game against West Terrace Primary. Captain Ronel Yarde (centre)
controlling the ball, scored the lone goal to give Westbury the
1-0 victory.
Crunchie the Biscuit Man made a guest appearance
yesterday when primary schools gathered to participate in the opening
ceremony of the 25th annual BICO and Pine Hill Dairy Primary Schools
Football and Netball Competitions. Officials from the Kidz World
Expo were on hand with the mascot to hand out information on the
show slated for Sherbourne Conference Centre on May 27 and 28. .

Sales executive for the expo, Sonia Taylor, said as they
were sponsors of the National Primary Schools Athletics Championships,
they wanted to be present at this event as well. Over 100 netball and
football teams paraded in front of parents and friends at the Netball
Stadium
