horse racing>>ricky walcot BARBADOS - horse racing Ricky Walcott Monday 19, April-2004 CALGARY – Barbadian jockey Ricky Walcott posted his fifth victory at the Stampede Park race course on Saturday. Walcott piloted 4-1 chance Cabin Stabin to a 1-1/4 lengths victory in the third race of the programme in a six-furlong event for four-year-olds and upward in a time of one minute, 14.80 seconds. Walcott and Cabin Stabin broke evenly and gained on the front-runners on the backstretch. They rallied in the second turn and closed steadily on the leaders for a convincing win. The win has now moved Walcott into seventh position on the jockeys’ standings that’s headed by compatriot Quincy Welch with 12 winners. Fellow Barbadian Desmond Bryan is third with 10 winners and compatriot Jamar Maughan is 14th with one winner. (CMC) Compliments of Nation News
