CAESAR heads a list of 12 horses entered for the Deloitte & Touche Challenge Cup scheduled for next Tuesday, the first day of the Barbados Turf Club’s second racing season.
The Andrew Nunes-trained filly will be taking along 126 pounds, and is one of the early pre-race favourites for the 1 800 metres feature.

She will be coming up against a number of other useful horses, including the ultra-consistent Foxy Lady, one of the most improved horses in 2003.

Foxy Lady will be taking along the top impost of 130 pounds, and can be expected to give a good account of herself.

Also entered are Cat Attack, which finished fourth in the Tanglewood Stakes on Gold Cup day; Macho Uno, a recent winner over 1 100 metres; Classic Deputy, stable companion of Caesar; Midnight Lace, probably the most promising two-year-old in 2002 but who was sidelined by injury and is yet to recover his two-year-old form; and Mon Ami among others. Three-year-old Historical, who is being pointed for the United Derby in August, is also in the line-up.

Storm Hunter and Lion Country are among nine horses entered in the Whitepark House Trophy for B1 to D2 animals – D2 maidens excluded.

Also entered are the disappointing Hard Dancer and Foxcote; the impressive Deputy PM; the useful Strong Opinion, winner of his last two races; the potentially loaded Birdie Point; along with Violent Storm and creole Van Gogh.
