Birdwatching and travel make a perfect combination and an excellent way to visit exciting destinations.

Barbados is no exception to the rule. Birding holidays generally allocate the mornings to birding taking advantage of the peak of bird activity especially in some of our natural swamp areas.

The afternoon is allocated to other activities other than enjoying the sun, sea and sand.

Hiking and Biking tours focus on the observation of nature, visits to particular land marks, and immersion in the cultural history of the island.




Birdwatching is eco-tourism at its best - in tune with nature and committed to safeguarding the environment for future generations of locals and visitors.






Most of the tours require a mild to moderate effort.

Bird tours typically start in the early morning to take advantage of peak bird activity.

Some tours include long walks and drives on bumpy roads.

For participants that can do limited amount of walking, alternate options are possible, please inform us in advance.

Combining birds and archeology, culture, scenery and natural history

In the afternoon birding is more opportunistic as we dedicate time to other aspects accordingly.







An early morning trip to Graeme Hall Bird Sanctuary allows you to enjoy numerous herons and egrets leaving the roost. The elusive Purple Heron can sometimes be spotted, a first record for North America and only the second for the Western Atlantic.



Coles House near Ragged Point is great area of marsh and ponds, spottings of a Western-Reef Heron have been made.

To the east is Cape Verde and here you might see the Little and Snowy Egrets.
The Congo Road Shooting Swamp, this is another tremendous area of shorebird habitat, but don't plan on coming here in the fall until mid-October when the hunting stops!
