Caribbean Volleyball Championships
The Barbadian lasses survived a minor scare before romping to their third straight-sets victory at the Garfield Sobers Gymnasium on Tuesday night with a 25-20, 25-21, 25-13 triumph over Jamaica.
It was also a cake-walk for the men as they streamrolled minnows Guadeloupe 25-9, 25-18, 25-20 in a game which coach Ludger Niles gave all 12 of his players some court time. Read more

Barbados men’s volleyball team got off to a fine start to their title defence when they defeated Bahamas in straight sets on the first day of the 10th Caribbean Volleyball championships at the Garfield Sobers Sports Complex on Sunday.
Barbados’ women’s team set the trend for the host country on the opening day, as they smoothly combined their efforts to dispatch Guadeloupe 25-19, 25-15, 25-21.

and Tobago in three straight sets when the action continued in the 10th
Caribbean Volleyball Championship at the Garfield Sobers Sports Complex
In the first game which they played on Sunday the Bajan women defeated Guadeloupe also in three sets.
In other games played on Monday Jamaica women defeated Bahamas women’s team 25-18, 25-20, 26-24, while Trinidad men’s team went under to Jamaica men after winning the first set - 25-16, 24-26, 21-25, 19-25.

The women have won their first four games, and even though they were given a fight by the Bahamas on Wednesday night, came through 3-1 winners.
The men have been even more dominant, not losing a set in their three wins as they seek an unprecedented ninth regional title, which should be earned on Sunday.

Bajans Roll Over St Lucia -

The Bajans took just one hour to destroy St Lucia, 25-15, 25-13, 25-11, to book a predictable direct trip to today’s semifinals with the game looking like a mismatch between a primary school cricket champion and Australia.
In spite of playing with their customary passion and spirit, the St Lucians were only competitive for the first five minutes of each set. < Read more >
The Bajan men overpowered Martinique 25-13, 25-22, 25-19 in their semifinal match on Saturday when the tournament continued at the gymnasium of the Garfield Sports Sports Complex, Wildey.
It took 58 minutes for Barbados to dispose of Marnique and continue their unbeaten run into the final where they will come up against Jamaica. < Read more>
