The artiste, whose performing life began when he was five years
old, had the crowd swooning and doing a sing-along with favourites
such as “Welcome the Morning Sun” and “Ain’t
No Sunshine”. |
| The ‘bassist’ – whose talent has allowed him the
opportunity to open for big name acts that include Patti Labelle,
Peabo Bryson and Brian McKnight – showed patrons who the ‘boss’
was when he rendered renditions of the numbers “Old Mill”,
“2010”, “Moon Dance”, “Bajan Bounce”,
“Antiquity”, “You Cuh Dance” and the title
track off his CD “Make Your Move”. |

Cool Jazz goers also were treated to a ‘Touch of Africa’
with a showing of African designs and a display of artworks from the
Anna Cumberbatch shop, Funtetaake. |

The shop carries products from Senegal, Mali, Ghana, Togo, Morocco and
Niger and items can also be sourced and researched on request. Funtetaake’s
product line includes: African prints (wax), Bazin (african cotton), bronze
and wood artifacts, jewellery, mud cloths, hammocks, stools, chairs, drums,
oil paintings and batiks.
Cool Jazz, which showcases the talents of local artistes, is kindly
supported by Banks Beer, the Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation, Southern
Palms Hotel, ConsultArts, www. www.Caribzones.com, Aya Productions, Merville
Lynch Productions and LOVE FM.
The next Cool Jazz event is scheduled for June 27, at 8 p.m. at the Southern
Palms Hotel.
