It wouldn't be a festival anywhere in the region if there wasn't just a touch of 'pan'... and this year we have added to the steelpan events by having two Pan Yard Limes and then some Pan Pun De Sand.

The two Pan Yard Limes will be held on July 9th and 16th at the NCF car park in West Terrace, culminating in Pan Pun De Sand on Brandon's Beach on Saturday, July 17th. Combining sun, sand and West Indian rhythms, patrons can look forward to the variety of sweet steelpan bands showcased in a non competitive environment.

Money goes to pan - Friday 09, July-2004

We may never know for sure the extent to which the constant controversies surrounding the annual calypso competition influenced their decision, but this year Barbados Shipping & Trading Limited is putting its money in pan.
This is instead of the usual contribution of a car to the calypsonian who won the Pic-O-De-Crop competition.

Chief executive officer Senator Allan Fields, seen here, went to West Terrace, St James, yesterday to present the National Cultural Foundation with a cheque for $30 000 to support Pan Pun De Sand and Pan Yard Lime.

He also put his mouth where his money now is, taking the opportunity to “play pan”.
