La Riviere Blanche (The White River), which begins in the Valley of Desolation and is also fed by the Boiling Lake, creates the magnificent Victoria Falls. The hike begins in the village of Delices, about one and a half-hour's drive from our base. On this hike we criss crossing the river all the way up the river gorge, sometimes scrambling over large boulders, until we get to the base of the waterfall where there is a beautiful pool for swimming. The milky look of the water is a result of the many sulphurous minerals mixing in the water. This water is said to be extremely beneficial for the skin.
