Budget accommodation in Carriacou is centered around Tyrell Bay where
a cluster of holiday villas make up the complex called 'Bay View Holiday
Cottages'.
Self contained units sleep 3- 4 and come complete
with a kitchenette and small dining area.
'Bay View Holiday Cottages' are located adjacent to 'Scraper's Restaurant
and Bar', where the mighty Scraper (a popular local former Calypso
King) is the host.
'Bay View Holiday Cottages' and other accommodation
around the area all offer excellent value. 'Scrapers' at US $70 per
night (sleeping 4) is fantastic holiday accommodation!
Tyrell bay provides a great location for watersports,
including dingy sailing
around the bay, kayaking around the Oyster beds, taking a small
craft for the day to one of the beautiful little islands or motoring
over to Mabouya
to enjoy a 'Castaway' experience, hiking and animal spotting.
The snorkelling and scuba
diving is fantastic as the area has some of the loveliest reefs
in the Caribbean, protected within three Marine Parks.
