GEORGETOWN - Guyana have named an under-strength 13-man squad for their Carib Beer Series Challenge semi-final against Barbados at the Carlton Club starting on Friday.

The squad will be without regular captain Shivnarine Chanderpaul and fellow West Indies batsman Ramnaresh Sarwan, both of whom are injured.

While the nature of Chanderpaul's injury was not known, Sarwan was forced to cut short his tour of New Zealand with the West Indies after pulling a thigh muscle.

THE SQUAD: Reon King (captain), Krishna Arjune, Sewnarine Chattergoon, Narsingh Deonarine, Leon Johnson, Travis Dowlin, Steven Jacobs, Assad Fudadin, Derwin Christian, Neil McGarrell, Mahendra Nagamootoo, Esaun Crandon and Imran Jaferally. (CMC)

"We feel a bit satisfied with most of the guys' fitness and the amount of cricket they've had." < Read more >

To their credit, Barbados managed to convert a Guyana century opening stand to a total of 211 all out. < Read more >
