MANHATTAN, New York – Billionaire entrepreneur Donald
Trump is looking for 100 golfers to participate in the Trump Million Dollar
Invitational in St Vincent and the Grenadines, a media release says.
The event is a new, dramatic high stakes golf tournament that will hold
its inaugural event in May at the Trump International Golf Club at Raffles
Resort on Canouan, in the southern Grenadines.
"I am going to personally give US$1 million to the one golfer who
can prove they have the skill and nerve it takes to survive under the
most extreme pressure on one of the world's most demanding courses. I'm
not going to just give US$1 million away. They're going to have to take
it," Trump said at a Press conference in Manhattan on Tuesday as
he issued a challenge to golfers around the world. Read

Cup of Golf which will be played in Barbados in 2006.
The focus may have been on the upcoming Barbados
World Cup Golf 2006 championships, or it may just have been on the
outlook for the tourism industry. Whatever it was, these three key

Hotel, Michael Pownann, and president of the Barbados Tourism Authority,
Stuart Layne, had much to discuss as they took a break from the
main session of the Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association's quarterly
meeting yesterday at Hilton Barbados.
SANDY LANE HOTEL is seeking to reposition
itself as the premier luxury hotel in the world.
This according to the new chief executive officer (CEO)
Michael Pownall, who was speaking to the Press yesterday at
the St James hotel.
He said the owners of the luxury property, which was renovated in
2001, had a long-term vision for the hotel that was as much about
quality as it was about making money because they were "so
deep and so passionate" about the hotel and the island.

Barbados’ triumph in winning its first Hoerman
Cup title is attributable primarily to better preparation.
This is the view of team manager Charles Edey, who
said that thanks to the support of management of the golf courses,
the team was equipped to pull off its historic win.
Barbados overcame stiff competition from defending
champions Trinidad and Tobago and Puerto Rico to win the cup in
Freeport, Grand Bahama.
'Caribbean Promise' competitor cricket Desmond Haynes is a keen golfer,
often seen at Barbados' top courses.
Here he partnered up with his fellow cricket colleague Gordon Greenidge,
Jim Reimer/Curtg Harnett and James Johnson .
With three championship golf courses, an executive nine-hole
course and another three more slated to come on stream in the future,
Barbados is being actively marketed as a boutique golf destination.
The Golf Product Club, made up of people selected from
the various golf clubs, is an initiative of the Barbados Tourism Authority
to promote Barbados’ golf worldwide “The idea of the Product
Club is really a combination of the private sector and Government working
hand in hand to promote a niche market, in this case, golf. It is funded
50-50 and Government basically matches whatever the public sector puts
up,” said chairman Denis Roach.
He said the Product Club had become very active over the
past two years and the fruits of its labour could be seen in major golf

Golf Club championship course and the Tryall golf course where the annual
Johnny Walker World Championship is held.
