BARBADOS - National Cultural Foundation Barbados Trade Fair & Arts Symposium
This versatile musician also plays the saxophone and trombone professionally and currently performs with the Plantation Band and X-Ta-C. This former member of the Royal Barbados Police Band studied at the prestigious Berklee College of Music where he was awarded a scholarship during his course. While in Boston, Christopher received a number of awards from the Massachusetts State Senate and the Mayor of Boston for outstanding academic performance. Christopher has lent his wealth of musical talent to groups such as: Splashband, The Party Monarch Band, The Festival Band and The Song Festival Band, and has toured with soca band Krosfyah. He has also performed at the Grenada Jazz Festival and the Barbados Jazz Festival on two occasions with groups opening for world famous saxophonists Najee and Kenny G. Christopher has sharpened his business and marketing skills with appropriate courses at the Barbados Institute for Management and Productivity and is currently pursing a post graduate diploma in Arts & Cultural Enterprise Management at the University of the West Indies St. Augustine campus in Trinidad & Tobago. The Arts Symposium runs from May 29th to June 1st. All sessions are in the afternoon and are held in the Sugar Mill Room of the Sherbourne Conference centre.
