Writing is more than just a hobby to her, more than a source of income, more than just a form of catharsis - Carolle Bourne's writing is her life. Her reward for a craft that has consumed her since she was at Secondary school, is the prestige of being the second-ever winner of the Kamau Brathwaite Award for Poetry at last year's National Independence Festival of Creative Arts (NIFCA).
