BARBADOS - National Cultural Foundation Glenville Lovell Article Posted: Dec 11, 2003
"The novel is as much about the culture of Brooklyn's Caribbean community as it is about the thriller storyline. It is an intricate plot placed within a rich setting," Marsar says. Glenville, a Barbadian by birth who currently lives in Brooklyn, York, is the author of several prize-winning plays as well as two novels, Song of Night and Fire In The Canes. He is well known here at home for his many successes during the ESSO Arts Festival of the 1980's, and was at one time one of Barbados' leading dancers. Literary artists will benefit from Glenville’s expertise during
his stay when the NCF stages a workshop to be conducted by Glenville on
the topic, ‘Writing that novel’ at the Frank Collymore Hall
on December 20th from 1:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Spaces are limited for
this event. Interested persons are asked to contact Katy Gash, the NCF’s
Cultural Officer – Literary Arts at 424-0909. |
