The setting is the historic intrigue of Tyrol Cot, the event – the National Cultural Foundation (NCF) launch of Glenville Lovell’s latest book – ‘Too Beautiful To Die’. On December 19th at 7:00 p.m. the four-time published author will release his third book that promises to offer reading filled with moments of suspense and the thrill of adventure.
According Kim Marsar, Lovell’s publicist, "Set in York, "Too Beautiful to Die" introduces Blades Overstreet, a black ex-cop, now at odds with the NYPD over the incident that prompted his resignation and traces the ex-cop's involvement with a beautiful soap-opera star named Precious in her quest to find her father. Murder, mystery, and betrayal all roll into one and time is running out for Blades to find a killer and clear his own name."

"The novel is as much about the culture of Brooklyn's Caribbean community as it is about the thriller storyline. It is an intricate plot placed within a rich setting," Marsar says.

Glenville, a Barbadian by birth who currently lives in Brooklyn, York, is the author of several prize-winning plays as well as two novels, Song of Night and Fire In The Canes.

He is well known here at home for his many successes during the ESSO Arts Festival of the 1980's, and was at one time one of Barbados' leading dancers.

Literary artists will benefit from Glenville’s expertise during his stay when the NCF stages a workshop to be conducted by Glenville on the topic, ‘Writing that novel’ at the Frank Collymore Hall on December 20th from 1:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Spaces are limited for this event.
