World Dance Day was established in 1982 by UNESCO and is celebrated every year on the 29th of April.
Arts education plays a major role in the developmental aspect of the NCF’s Dance desk programming. The NCF is committed to helping and informing you of how your personal experiences with the arts can be of benefit to yourself, your community and the island in the creation of a vibrant dance and arts culture.
The National Cultural Foundation's (NCF) Dance Studio is a unique structure dedicated to the development of dance in Barbados that combines a dance studio with a multi-functional performing arts centre open to all Barbadians, residents and visitors.
The NCF Studio serves as a flagship for Barbadian and Caribbean people promoting Barbadian performing arts, culture and opinion through a diverse and exciting range of programmes and activities.
The Studio will be intensively used for classes, rehearsals and activities such as theatre performances, conferences and video evenings and will be a popular place for local and visiting Artist to meet.
The studio’s location makes access easy via our public transportation service (Mini Van No. 3 and all Wanstead buses).
