The Barbados Landship Association continues the commemoration of its 140th anniversary with a lecture at Solidarity House, Hindsbury Road, St. Michael.
The lecture, entitled, “The Barbados Landship; the Cloaking of a Heritage”, was presented by U.W.I. lecturer in Cultural Studies, Dr. Marcia Burrowes, who traced the history and development of the Landship Movement, an integral element of Barbadian culture.

The 140th Anniversary Committee in collaboration with the National Cultural Foundation is presenting the event.

The stiltwalker in the NCF’s logo comes ‘alive’ and takes on the role of a storyteller. Sam Stiltwalker and his friends a dancer and a flautist go on some exciting local adventures. These stories should prove to be wonderful tools to provide children with a wealth of information on things indigenous. And the kids have their own Message Board as well as s and jokes pages too. We believe it’s a wonderful way for tiny tots to connect!
