BARBADOS - National Cultural Foundation Barbados Landship to be Commemorated Oct 2nd 2003
Compliments of the NCF For the international visitor, NCF is your personal guide to three of our major Festivals, Crop Over, Congaline and the National Independence Festival of Creative Arts (NIFCA). And while you’re at it, link to our Barbadian Facts page to find the variety of things we have in our ‘Bajan Backyard’; why you simply must have some Cou Cou and Flying Fish when visiting; or learn the local lingo and discover what on earth the Bajan exclamation "Cheese on bread!" means. In fact, the Bajan Backyard gives you an insightful look at our People, Language, Dress, Geography, Government and Industry also awaits you. We also welcome our children. Children will find NCF.bb’s ‘NCF 4 Kids’ page reader friendly and interactive. We’ve used indigenous characters to create educational games with the young ones in mind. The stiltwalker in the NCF’s logo comes ‘alive’ and takes on the role of a storyteller. Sam Stiltwalker and his friends a dancer and a flautist go on some exciting local adventures. These stories should prove to be wonderful tools to provide children with a wealth of information on things indigenous. And the kids have their own Message Board as well as s and jokes pages too. We believe it’s a wonderful way for tiny tots to connect! For our very own Barbadians this is a site that you can truly be proud of - NCF.bb provides a forum for us to present the multi-dimensional aspects of the NCF.
