The dream of horticulturalist and plants-man Richard Coughlan who was trained at London's Kew Gardens and was instrumental in landscaping the Flower Forest.
It took a year to develop Orchard World, the old chicken pens were recycled into the shaded houses that now house some of the worlds rarest orchids, some imported from Thailand.
	An Orchid lovers paradise... a meandering path winds its way around craggy outcrops of coral rock gardens, deep into lush shaded gullies and cool ponds with the sound of running water adding to the bird song to make this a truly special place to visit. The orchids themselves are breathtakingly beautiful, grown in shaded houses or outside on free standing pallisades. There are two Dendrobium houses, two Vandaceous, a Phalaenopsis and a Cattlyeas as well as a special propagation area.

 

The head gardener Weston 'T-Bert' Allman and his staff are well informed and are happy to answer any of your questions about the numerous spectacular species in their care.

Wheelchair access is available throughout.
