BARBADOS - Corbin makes big splash

Compliments of the Nation NewsTHE CURTAIN came down on the Lazy Days National Surfing Championship this weekend at the Soup Bowl Bathsheba.

The two-day event brought out veterans and promising youngsters and saw action in nine events.

In the end, Stefan Corbin took the pride of place in two events including the prestigious Men's Open division.

The finalists in order of placing were:

Longboard: Alan Burke; Stewart Stoute; Barry Banfield; Nick Donawa.

Open: Stefan Corbin; Chris Clarke; Adrian Small; Barry Banfield.

Under 18 Girls: Ametza Nicholls; Chelsea Roett; Chelsea Tuach; Alyssa Fernandes

Under 12: Chelsea Tuach; Gavin Fernandes; Joshua Burke; Matthew Roach; Evan Moll.

Bodyboard: Ian Jarvis; Jason Kistoo.

Ladies: Melanie Pitcher; Ametza Nicholls; Chelsea Roett; Chelsea Tuach.

Under 18 Boys: Stefan Corbin; Lewis St. John; Jordan Heaselgrave; Matthew Keiffer.

Under 16 Boys: Lewis St. John; Bruce Mackie; Matthew Keiffer; Jordan Heaselgrave.

Masters: Stewart Stoute; Brian Gooding; Andrew Rapson; Wayne Roett.

Compliments of the Nation NewsSURFERS RIDING HIGH. The day was hot and so was the surfing when the Lazy Days National Surfing Championships began at the Soup Bowl, Bathsheba, yesterday. The event brought out the veterans and upcoming surfers who will be battling for honours today in the MenÕs Open, the WomenÕs, Under-18 and Under-16 BoysÕ, as well as the MastersÕ and Longboard divisions.
