BARBADOS - west coast beaches


The beautiful stretch of coastline must have been a welcomed sight to the English settlers who first docked at Holetown in 1625. Then covered with thick forest and swamp lands, now known as the 'platinum' coast. Here you will see the most obvious signs of opulence, where land is worth more than US $3 million an acre and the rich and famous have made their stake in paradise.
Stretching from Bridgetown the capital to Speightstown lies the picture postcard beaches that epitomizes what our imagination tells us a Caribbean island should look like!
Here luxurious hotels, located on beautiful clean white sandy beaches, fringed by clear lapping waters, cater to the needs of the most up-market visitors to Barbados.
The best things in life are free and due to the Barbados law that disallows beaches to be privately owned you can see the local strolling alongside the filmstar, both enjoying the natural beauty that has been freely provided for all to enjoy.

PAYNES BAY


This is a beautiful moderately calm beach and is located opposite the Coach House restaurant and bar. It is easily accessible and has off the road parking. A great beach for snorkeling and water sports, or simple having a picnic under the casuarina trees. Popular with visitors and locals. Check out Bombas beach bar a perfect place to watch the sunset.

HOLETOWN
Lovely crystal clear waters lap onto pure white beaches. A great place to snorkel, occasionally the swimmer may even catch sight of a sea turtle! The beach is ideal for all types of water sports and there is fast food readily available.
